How I was actracted in Electrical and Radio hobby
I was attracted in electrical since my childhood. In the end of 1945 The United Nation Army occupied the Village in a small town called Cianjur where I lived. The communication Divisions of the British Army occupied my village; we called them Gurkhas for they mostly are Indians soldiers. They erected a communication center. I watched them working; they started erecting the antennas until they finished the whole Radio station. They placed power generator a bit farther from the station.
When they started testing the station, I saw one of the soldier sat in front of the radio equipment which seems for me its looked very complicated. He attached a headphone on his head and switches on the equipment, turning several knobs. Out from his headphones I heard barely noises and beeping sounds. Long after he listened to the beeping sounds he started knocking at an apparatus that caused a knocking sounds similar likewise he knocked at the door consecutively. After he stopped knocking, again from his headphone rhythmical beeping sounds barely came out. When the beeping stopped he started knocking his apparatus again, the procedure went on and on. I didn't understand what he was doing.
When he finished with his knocking activities he switched on another equipment, apparently it's a radio receiver. I recognized it because songs came out from it. Oh apparently he was not interested in listening the songs, when the song didn't finished yet he just turned the knob to a place where there was no songs decayed but only noises. After that he started to talk into a piece of small apparatus held in his hand, in a strange language I didn't understand, I observed that every time, at the end he always said, "du u risip mai sina ove". After that started turning the radio knobs again and talk again Until he heard some one's voice came out from his radio, at this situation he talked like he actually talk face to face with some one.
Almost every day I sat there down, watching the soldiers working with their equipment. The conditions there was very attractive and cool. They often gave me chocolate, candies and canned foods, its tends to reasons those place became endurable for me that caused me felt at home.
Mereka mendirikan pusat komunikasi radio.
